The period of adolescence is characterized by identity formation, transition to adulthood, developmental tasks, unset of puberty resulting to rapid changes in the individuals' reproductive systems. Understanding this period by the individual, caregivers, teachers and parents is critical to successfully adaptation to positive life styles. The Ebonyi youths require a lot of support during this period realizing the social demographic factors such as poverty, culture, poor education, low self esteem and lack of access to reproductive health information. This study investigated the prevalence and determinants of adolescent reproductive health and social well-being in Ebonyi state. A descriptive cross sectional study using WHO designed adolescents and young adults reproductive health needs assessment questionnaire and triangulating quantitative and qualitative data with Focused Group Discussions and Key Informant Interviews. Data was analyzed using SPSS version 22, qualitative data wasanalyzed using thematic areas. Ebonyi State has 13 Local Government Areas with 70% rural populated. Most of the communities are bugged with absence of basic social amenities -electricity, recreation centre.

Mrs Ugo Ndukwe Uduma, was born on 30th December, 1953. Ugo holds Masters degree in Health Education, B.Sc Nursing Education. She is a Registered Nurse, Midwife and Nurse Educator. She retired in 2011 as Director of Nursing Services Ebonyi State and is now a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Nursing Sciences, Ebonyi State University.
