This book is the author`s first academic work and an insight into the SFRY`s collapse, the massive and violent reinvigoration of nationalism in (former) Yugoslavia as well as the possible connection of self-management socialism - i.e. the Yugoslav model of socialism- with the dissolution. Was indeed self-management socialism a conditio-sine-qua-non for the collapse of the SFRY followed by a fatal aftermath that can be feeled even today in the Balkan region? Why did Yugoslavia experience a deadly civil war whereas other socialist and multi-ethnic states in Eastern Europe did not -or at least not on a same level- when they were dissolving during the post-socialist era? These questions and relevant topics are adressed by the author in this book.
