Wastewater discharge form these industries are major source of pollution and it affect the ecosystem. The degradation of environment results in adverse effect on living organism and agriculture. The overarching goal of the study is to reduce nutrients and pathogens from dairy waste in Jaipur through a novel approach that utilizes remediation properties of mushrooms (higher macro fungi). Ames Assay and Respirometric Inhibition Assay are performed on extracts of mushrooms grown. Nutritional Analysis of grown Mushrooms is checked by various biochemical tests. It can be concluded from this study that DaS (Dairy Industrial Sludge) is suitable for enhancing the Pleurotus mushroom productivity.
