The Texas Book Festival, the West Texas Book and Author Festival, and numerous other groups have honored ELMER KELTON with their lifetime achievement awards. He has written more than forty novels, including The Time It Never Rained and The Good Old Boys, and has won seven Spur Awards. The Western Writers of America in 1995 named him the greatest Western author of all time. Kelton also wrote Christmas at the Ranch (McWhiney Foundation Press, 2003).
