A novel and screenplay writer for more than 10 years, R. Simone takes pride in using the super-powers of her pen to inspire. Born and raised in Flint, MI, R. Simone was always inquisitive about the motivation behind the choices individuals make and how the mind works; hence, her decision to obtain a degree in psychology from The University of Michigan-Flint. She continues to be committed to the empowerment of others, especially those in her hometown, advocating and volunteering for several community and non-profit based programs for youth.   R. Simone focuses her writing on taboo and uncomfortable topics that are often avoided in the African-American community, such as toxic relationships, the emotional and mental effects of abandonment, mental illness, and high-risk lifestyle behaviors. R. Simone is also involved in other avenues of mass media including stage plays and films as a writer, actress, production manager, and director. She is the proud parent of one daughter and two sons—Kayla, Nathaniel, and Nehemiah. She currently resides in the Detroit Metro area.
