He noticed that many of the local villages had churches and chapels which were now closed due to depopulation. However "The Word" still needed to be proclaimed. It soon became obvious that, a team of helpers would be needed and his Family joined in eagerly to support.

The author grew up in an establishment church background and eventually entered into church service, first as a Licensed Lay Reader and then into a wider calling as an Evangelist commissioned by The Bishop This led to a service proclaiming "The Word", by working with local churches of many denominations for several years. Then one morning a letter was delivered to his business. It was addressed completely accurately to him, even though he had absolutely no knowledge of, or contact with India. Having read the letter carefully he realised that God must have a hand in this, so he replied saying that he would visit this pastor on the first available flight in order to assess the situation seriously, as he was sure that this was what God wanted. This became just one more step along an exciting and varied road which led to a ministry of evangelism down which God would lead him and his entire family for the rest of his life. At the present time we have three generations of the family, all engaged in active Christian service and are expecting the fourth generation soon.
