This book presents a survey of the various topologies of cascaded multilevel inverter and their control techniques for an induction motor with open end windings. Multilevel inverter structures can be realized by feeding the open-end winding induction motor from both sides with 2-level inverter or 3-level inverter or 4-level inverter or with their combinations. Both the multi level carrier based Sinusoidal Pulse Width Modulation (SPWM) and the Space Vector based Pulse Width Modulation (SVPWM) are employed for the multilevel topologies presented in this book.
