Mucin histochemistry can effectively determine the mucin profile of colorectal adenocarcinoma. Mucin content and type of mucin present can be regarded as important prognostic indicator and early diagnosis may help in reducing mortality regarding colorectal tumors. Mucin histochemistry may provide a valuable and cost-effective tool for the diagnostic histopathology and for the researchers in histology.
