Autorenporträt
Laura Callahan is a lifelong resident of Maryland. After retiring from nursing, Laura pursued her love of animals and nature by becoming a volunteer Exhibit Guide and Aviculture Assistant at the National Aquarium in Baltimore where she met her co-authors. An osprey banding trip with Greg Kearns on Jug Bay, part of the Patuxent River Park in Upper Marlboro, Maryland, served as the inspiration for this book. Laura is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators. Patrice Boone is a graduate of Towson University with a BS in Business. She lives in he Baltimore suburbs with her husband and two cats. She spent many summers on the Chesapeake Bay with her family boating, fishing and crabbing. Patrice is currently a volunteer exhibit guide at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. This is her first children's book. Jill Waldman received her BA in Sociology and Anthropology from Union College in New York. She is a former grant writer and development director for the Rockefeller Foundation and Enterprise Community Partners. Jill loves to share her lifelong passion for marine life and conservation as volunteer Exhibit Guide at the National Aquarium in Baltimore. She is a member of the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
