Mosquitoes belong to the order Diptera and family Culicidae. More than 3500 species of mosquitoes belonging to 34 genera have been recorded and arranged under three sub-families, namely Anophelinae, Culicinae and Toxorhynchitinae. Dr.M.Ramar is currently doing as a Post Doctoral Fellow in the department of Zoology at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. He did Ph.D. from Entomology Research Institute, Chennai. He worked as a SRF, Lecturer, AP, TA (ICMR) and RA (ICMR). He has published 28 papers and 4 book chapters. He is the member of ZSK, NAVBD and ASA (US)
