Autorenporträt
Pierre-Louis Coudray was born in France in 1979. After graduating from the Universities of Rennes and Caen with a degree in Irish studies, he completed a PhD in Irish and military history at the University of Lille in 2018. He is now a lecturer in British studies at the University of Montpellier. His work on the image of the Irish Brigade in the eighteenth century in France, Britain and Ireland was awarded the 2019 PhD prize from the Irish Cultural Centre in Paris. He has been published in both France and Ireland on the subject of the Irish military exiles. His interests include military history, Irish and British cultures and visual representations of war in the English speaking world from 1700 to 1900.
