This is an evaluation of Religious Education in England, Christian Religious Education in Uganda at Key stages 3 and 4 and senior 3 and 4 respectively, and Moral Education. It evaluates Religious Education syllabus in relation to Moral Education discourse and attempts to identify the teaching of morals in Religious Education course as well as examine whether moral Education can be separated from religious belief. The evaluation concludes with the observation that moral education has not been adequately provided for in Religious Education especially in Christian Religious Education but notes that at the same time Religious Education cannot be dispensed with in the face of Moral Education. It suggests that there be cooperative participation in moral teaching in a way that where religion is dominant, it incorporates moral teaching adequately but where religion is not a matter of concern, moral education be thought of as essential. Where the two can work together, it becomes a matterof mutual understanding of the implementers of both religious education and moral education.
