Sandra Rose Simmons grew up in Illinois and discovered a passion for creative writing in high school. Her career path led her to other pursuits including teaching, social work and creation and development of programs and services for private, nonprofit and governmental organizations. Her personal and professional life inspired her with ideas of many stories about people and their struggles to not only survive but thrive and find meaning in life. Her stories also reflect her interests in nature, travel, hiking dancing and spirituality. Family and friendships have played a major role in her life and helped her maintain balance and perspective as she navigated the difficulties of being a working single mother and caregiver to her elderly parents and her life partner. She currently lives in Phoenix, Arizona.
