This is the first kind of the report where the germination of fenugreek seeds was found to increase their antdiabetic activity many fold than their respective seeds. Through this research, a mechanistic rationale of germinated fenugreek seeds to be used alone or as an adjuvant to current therapies for the better management of diabetes was demonstrated. This study clearly suggests that the 4th day germinated fenugreek sprouts can be incorporated in pharmaceutical preparations for human health or can be directly consumed as a functional food against diabetes.
