This book provides the details about a suitable and secured method for transmitting medical images in teleradiology by employing the watermarking approach, which has been developed by integrating biometrics and cryptographic techniques. This book provides the details about a suitable and secured method for transmitting medical images in teleradiology by employing the watermarking approach, which has been developed by integrating biometrics and cryptographic techniques. The secured teleradiology approach has comprised of five stages. In the first stage, the sender can extract the features of the fingerprint. The second stage generates the cryptography key from the extracted fingerprint features. In the third stage, the encryption of DICOM images is done with the generated keys for authentication and secure transmission of the DICOM images. In the fourth stage, the encrypted DICOM images are watermarked into the cover image using LZW, HHCIHT and DWT methods for adding security. In the final stage, the receiver derives the processed hidden cipher image by using a watermarking extraction key and decrypting the original image from the cipher image using a decryption key.
