The message is to help children realize that they can have a friendship with someone who is different from them. Irregardless of what that difference is, that friendship will be a special gift to last a lifetime. Counselors and parents will use the book as springboard for conversation about bullying, acceptance and diversity (race, special needs children, children with a different appearance, physical handicap, etc.). The inspiration for this story came from the author's husband, Sam Lowe, who had an interest in UFOs and people from other planets. It is Judy's desire that children of all ages open their hearts to those who are a little different. Our beautiful planet Earth will only evolve through love and light.

Judy Lowe está jubilada de su profesión como maestra de talentosos y dotados en el Distrito Escolar Independiente de Dallas, Dallas, Texas. Desde 1966, ella obtuvo una maestría en Educación Primaria y un certificado en Educación para Talentosos y Dotados. Sus pasatiempos son leer, trabajar en su patio, caminar y estar afuera.A Judy le gusta los musicales, asistir a las funciones de Vocal Majority, viajar y ver muchos programas en PBS, el Canal de Hallmark y el Canal de Historia. Ella sirve en la Junta Directiva de Festival del Libro del Norte de Texas, y es un miembro del Museo de Arte de Dallas, Asociación de Maestros Pensionados, Maestros egresados de Talentosos y Dotados de Dallas ISD, KERA, y la Asociación de Autores de Texas.
