An effective technique to mitigate harmonics from grid connected wind turbines. The proposed method comprised of shunt active power filter (APF). The switching of APF is carried out by hysteresis band current controller. In order to validate the system performance, two reference current generation techniques have been used (pq theory and SRF theory). The results achieved from SRF theory were satisfied and more accurate as compared to pq theory. The proposed controller mitigates the harmonics and satisfies the international harmonic standard set in IEEE-519.
