Mado Martínez es una de las voces narrativas más destacadas del género fantástico. Debutó con El misterio de Nicole Delacroix, a la que siguieron novelas como La Santa (Premio Ateneo Joven de Sevilla), La maldición y El tren de las almas. En el ámbito del ensayo, ha mostrado interés en diferentes campos, tales como la antropología, la ciencia y la historia, con títulos como La prueba, Putas, brujas y locas, Colombia sobrenatural y Neurociencia de la felicidad, entre otros. Es miembro del equipo radiofónico La Rosa de los Vientos de Onda Cero, y colabora en diferentes medios.
