This book deals with the mining industry in Côte d'Ivoire. We consider both industrial (formal) and artisanal (informal) extractive activities through two chapters. Chapter I aims to examine the link between public spending on education and the integration of women into the workforce in extractive industry. Chapter II aims to analyze the impact of mining activities and the empowerment of women on their involvement in household development. In short, it's appropriate to re-examine current conditions of employment of women, without favoring with it in less risky or affordable work.
