Nowadays, consumers are increasingly looking for sustainability combined with convenience, comfort and security. Home automation aims to align these pillars, adopting integrated and autonomous systems to solve everyday problems and provide citizens with a better quality of life. Automated blinds were chosen as the subject of this work because they are one of the aspects of home automation, with the aim of saving energy, protecting movable property, convenience and privacy in the environment. The project develops a microcontrolled system to check the external brightness of the room and automatically open or close the angle of the blinds. In addition to this functionality, the project provides vertical opening and closing of the slats via remote control, both of which optimise the ambient light inside the building. At the end of the project, it is clear that it is possible to combine convenience and sustainability at an affordable price, with low maintenance costs.
