Many of the health risks that men face can be prevented and treated if diagnosed early. 90% of healthcare in the NHS is carried out in general practice, this places the practice nurse at the forefront of primary healthcare provision and in particular the provision of men's healthcare. This text focuses on the clinical role of the practice nurse and the contribution that can be made in order to promote health.
