Michelle vit en Australie-Méridionale rurale avec sa famille et ses bergers belges. Michelle est diplômée de l'Université de Flinders avec un baccalauréat en études pédagogiques et de TAFE SA avec un diplôme en développement durable. Elle est passionnée par la conservation et la préservation de l'environnement. Michelle a lancé une page intitulée Hell Yeah Sustainability qui peut être trouvée sur Facebook. Elle a participé et terminé la formation Climate Reality Leadership. L'intérêt de Michelle pour les abeilles provient des abeilles indigènes de sa propriété. Plutôt que d'avoir peur d'eux, elle a cherché à les comprendre ainsi que leur mode de vie et comment ils contribuent à l'environnement. Dans cette compréhension, elle a appris à les aimer et, à cause de cet amour, à écrire à leur sujet.
