Autorenporträt
Joel Moreno grew up in the small farming community of Wasco, CA. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish, a Master of Science degree in Counseling and a Doctorate degree in Marriage and Family Therapy. This book is meant to inspire the reader about the tenacity of love through family and family lore even when hard times and heartbreak have transpired throughout the generations. It brings to life one charismatic woman's wonderful presence in the world and not allow her story to be forgotten or left behind. This was a woman who utilized a tough love approach in life yet was able inspire respect and unconditional love in others. My target audience is young people, in high school or in college. This is where people are provided with an opportunity for mastery and competency of a specific subject and allows for a total transformation of the students by broadening their minds. This story could provide students with an inspirational tool from which to learn, act, and go out and shape the world with new ideas about family and a love that transcends generations. The message I am trying to pass on to the reader is that love transcends family, friends, and community and seeks to be acknowledged. Each one of us has a story to tell. I want the reader to be emotionally impacted by this love story. A love story that transcends generational family and community. I want it to be used as an ice breaker for creating discussion about family, tradition, the immigrant experience, grief and healing and love.
