The study aimed at scrutinizing and comparing how the telecommunications operators of Laos and Thailand manage their people in a period of rapid technological changes, knowledgeable customers and intensified competition in this service-based era. Twenty-three key informants from the telecommunications companies were interviewed face-to-face (15 from Thailand and 8 from Laos), and 469 valid questionnaires were accumulatively collected to study the employees perspectives and actual HRM practices in the telecommunications companies.The results show that the telecommunications operators of both countries have been rapidly increasing enhancing their employees capabilities as priorities.

Dr. Nittana Southiseng has got her PhD degree in Management Science and other two master degrees in International Public Management and Business Administration. Her research interest is in areas of HRM, HRD, SMEs,entrepreneurship,migration and labour market and etc.
