Roger Powell is Professor Emeritus of North Carolina State University. He is the author of The Fisher: Life History, Ecology & Behavior, and he has spent more than 40 years studying and researching mammals in the field, including 20 years of studying Black Bears. When he isn't writing, Roger spends his time working on a project to return Fishers to the Sierra Nevada Mountains of northern California. Roger lives in Ely, MN.
