Autorenporträt
Tameka Lewis resides in New Jersey with her husband and her vibrant daughter. She realized the need for more African American children's books when her daughter would ask questions about the color of her skin. Tameka partnered with her sister to create Mama's Brown Girls to demonstrate the importance of self-identity for our girls at an early age. Tameka believes it is easy to build a child's confidence by providing positive and healthy development early in life. As a Girl Scouts leader Tameka enjoys introducing new leadership experiences throughout her daughter's troop. In her spare time, she enjoys running and volunteering throughout the community. Tameka obtained her MSIS degree from Steven's Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ.
