Thurston holds a degree in Psychology and a master's degree in Social Work from the University of North Carolina Wilmington. His previous work experience includes film and TV production, serving the local mental health community, co-founding a succulent and cactus design studio, and now includes children's books! Thurston enjoys spending time on the water in the beautiful coastal town of Wilmington, NC as well as spending time with family in his hometown, where Maggie's actual Secret Garden is located.
