Antonia Katharina Tessnow begann mit 8 Jahren zu reiten und wurde früh gefördert. Mit 13 Jahren übernahm sie ihre ersten Berittpferde und mit 15 zeitweilig den Großpferdeunterricht an einem renommierten Reitstall in Berlin, ihrer Geburtsstadt. Nach einem einjährigen USA-Aufenthalt arbeitete sie mehrere Jahre in einem Privatstall außerhalb Berlins. Mit 22 wechselte sie in einen Sportstall nach Schleswig-Holstein, in dem sie sich auf die Dressur spezialisierte und Pferde aller Klassen trainierte und ausbildete. Nach einer anschließenden 6-jährigen Tätigkeit im Berliner Olympiastadion als Landesverbandstrainerin des Modernen Fünfkampfes in der Disziplin Springreiten, verließ sie den Sport und widmete sich ihrer künstlerischen, heil-therapeutischen und schriftstellerischen Arbeit. Sämtliche Trainerscheine erwarb sie am Brandenburgischen Haupt- und Landesgestüt Neustadt an der Dosse. An dem Aufbau dieses Gestütes orientiert sich der Ort, an dem der Hauptteil der Winston Trilogie stattfindet. Winston war Antonias erstes Berittpferd an der Landesreitschule Berlin. Der Charakter und der Lebenslauf von Winston im Buch wurde von diesem wunderbaren Tier inspiriert. Heute lebt sie in einem kleinen Dorf am Rande der Mecklenburgischen Schweiz, schreibt Bücher, musiziert und führt eine Hundezucht der russischen Zarenhunderasse Bolonka Zwetna aus dem Alten Jagdhaus.
