Author Karena Schroeder is a physical therapist from Indiana with over 20 years experience in the field. She works with a variety of ages and conditions. Her specialties include neuroscience education for the treatment of chronic pain, complex cases, and manual therapy. She loves the study of the brain and its effect on the body as a whole, and believes in the healing power of touch. Both her bachelor's and doctorate degrees were earned from the University of Indianapolis. Happily married to her high school sweetheart of 22 years, she is the mother of 3 boys, the youngest of which is on the autism spectrum. Karena ventured into the world of children's books to help to create an environment of understanding and acceptance for her son among his peers. Karena wants to show people that this disorder is not something to be feared, but something that brings new beauty into the world. In her free time she enjoys reading and making memories with her family.
