Dr. Lentz is a member of or supervisor in the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy, American Association for Pastoral Counselors, American Society of Clinical Hypnosis, and the International Society of Clinical Hypnosis. He is the director of the Ericksonian Institute of Jeffersonville, Indiana where he teaches and practices marriage and family therapy as well as hypnosis. For over 22 years he was the Chief Chaplain at the Women's Prison in Kentucky, where he offered therapy and supervised students. During 18 years of that time he was also an adjunct professor at the Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary where he taught the clinical applications of therapy. it was the unique blend of prison and graduate school that he credits with his original thinking. People still appreciate the lessons he learned from being at both the locations at the same time. It is one of the reasons he is a popular speaker.
