Autorenporträt
Born in Brooklyn and raised in Long Island City, N.Y. Dee wanted to experience life outside of the Queens Bridge Projects. She joined the Air Force to pursue higher education and travel. After serving eight years and graduating from Eastern Washington University she began her career as a Clinical Lab Scientist. She spent 16 years in Washington State working in the chemistry, immunology and hematology laboratory and decided to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area. She accepted a position in the microbiology laboratory at the National Institutes of Health and retired after 30 years of service. Dee always felt her calling was to become a writer. After experiencing so many years as an African American in a predominately white environment in Spokane, this became the driving force for Love, Lies & Lab Coats. Her other interests include organic gardening, cooking, reading and traveling.
