Stuck at home during the COVID-19 outbreak, watercolor artist Lila Bartel and poet Duane Johnson began sending their artistic expressions back and forth via e-mail. The two Kansans responded to each other's work as the spirit moved, and the result is this collaboration of illustrations and verse. Some of the twenty-eight pairings in this book matched existing poems with existing art, some are poems Johnson wrote to accompany his favorite Bartel watercolors, and some are paintings Bartel created to accompany poems previiously written by Johnson.
