Autorenporträt
I grew up in Oneonta, NY, reading and loving books. After attending Brown University, I worked in an HIV community center and took care of high risk babies before attending medical school at Jefferson Medical College. I trained in surgery at University of California, San Francisco and UCSF East Bay. My work usually consists of long hours in the hospital and peer reviewed research, but I am also interested in social justice. I live and work in Oakland, California where I am married to a professional bassoonist. As mommy to 4 year old twins and as a cancer surgeon, I am always humbled. Someday, I aspire to play the oboe more.
