Oil came early to Lincoln County and continues to play a large role in the economy. At one time, the county was covered in cotton fields. Glen V. McIntyre's great-grandfather Eugene Joseph McIntyre took part in the land run of 1891 and staked a claim in Lincoln County. McIntyre retired in 2010 from working in museums in Kingfisher and Enid. This is his fourth book with Arcadia Publishing.
