The work was carried out on Chikklingdalli water body from December 2015 to November 2017. To investigate the physic-chemical parameters, Zooplankton diversity, fish diversity, pollution status of the water body. The study may be concluded that the hydrobiological parameters of the Chikklingdalli water body were within normal range. The result indicates no pollution as for as water studies are concerned. The seasonal variation in the abundance of rotifer, cladocera, copepod and ostracoda revealed that the abundance was relatively maximum during summer season and minimum during southwest monsoon season in Chikllingdalli water body. The great difference in diversity of zooplankton biomass and number might be related to ecological fluctuations. The relative abundance of the rotifers, cladocera, copepod and ostracoda difference among species considerably reflected through the statistical analysis. Fish species are also good in number. However, further studies are required to identifythe preferences for the specific species of the zooplankton by the fish species. Such studies may enable utilizing the zooplankton species with higher precision and enhancing and productivity of the fish.
