Mary Marr has enjoyed two professional careers- education and ministry. After several years of successful public school teaching, Mary pursued a ministerial course of study, which led her to the staff position of evangelism in a large Detroit area church. While on the church staff, Mary was approached to produce and host the radio program Reaching Out From Within, which later became the foundation for the nationally syndicated program Outreach Alert, heard daily on over two hundred fifty stations. As the apostle Paul had his 'thorn in the flesh, ' Mary has had a lifelong battle with severe allergies, which God has used to strengthen her ministry effectiveness. In her tenure of twenty-two years as an evangelist, she has led many to the Lord, and has taught and inspired scores of others to effectively share their Christian faith. On behalf of the Outreach Alert ministry, Mary has been involved in several national evangelism ministries: Mission America Lighthouse Movement - including the formation of the National Lighthouse Media Committee, Family Life Communications, and the Christian Broadcasting Network Book of Hope. She is a member of National Religious Broadcasters.
