Alone in New York and knowing very little English, Ilana struggled through years of poorly paid jobs. Slowly but surely working her way up the ladder until, as Project Architect for the Times Square Tower in New York, she led the team of architects and consultants who created the Construction Documents and supervised the skyscraper's construction. She currently lives in Chapala, Jalisco, Mexico, with her husband Jim, her three dogs and a pussycat.
