Autorenporträt
A Levy County native, Carolyn Cohens attended Chiefland Junior High School and graduated from Williston Vocational High School. She illustrated the books Out of the Past a Noble Leader and The Origination of the Black Man, and is also the author of Arcadia Publishing's Black America Series: Levy County. She is a tour guide for the Chiefland Train Depot Museum and a member of the University of Florida Overall Extension board. Cohens volunteers her artistic skills with the Alachua County School volunteer program and provides pictures and history for the Levy County courthouse during Black History month each year. Cohens sends special thanks to all the families and historical societies for the photographs and family history they shared for inclusion in Images of America: Levy County.
