This book marks a major contribution to the study of Arabic illustrated manuscripts of Kalīla wa-Dimna and its Persian and Ottoman versions. The studies gathered in this volume showcase a wide diversity of approaches crossing textual investigation, codicological and iconographic study, and laboratory analysis. Autor

Eloïse Brac de la Perrière, Ph. D. (2002), is Professor of Islamic Art and Architecture at Sorbonne University. A specialist of the Persianate world, her publications include Autour du coran de Gwalior (2016) and L'art du livre dans l'Inde des sultanats (2008). Eloïse Brac de la Perrière, est Professeure d'art et d'architecture islamiques à Sorbonne Université. Spécialiste des mondes persans et indiens, ses publications incluent Autour du coran de Gwalior (2016) et L'art du livre dans l'Inde des sultanats (2008). Aïda El Khiari is a Ph.D. Student at Sorbonne University where she is currently completing her doctoral thesis which focuses on a virtually unknown corpus - illustrated Arabic manuscripts produced in Egypt and Syria during the Ottoman period. Aïda El Khiari est doctorante à Sorbonne Université où elle achève une thèse de doctorat portant sur un corpus largement inédit - celui des manuscrits à peintures produits en Égypte et en Syrie à l'époque ottomane. Annie Vernay-Nouri is a specialist in Arabic manuscripts and was chief curator in the Department of Oriental Manuscripts at the Bibliothèque nationale de France. She has curated many exhibitions and her publications include among others L'art du livre arabe (2001). Annie Vernay-Nouri a été conservateur en chef du département des Manuscrits à la Bibliothèque nationale de France. Spécialiste des manuscrits arabes, elle a été commissaire de nombreuses expositions et ses publications incluent, entre autres, L'art du livre arabe (2001).
