Sire (PhD, University of Missouri) has been a professor of English literature, philosophy, and theology, chief editor of InterVarsity Press, and a lecturer in many universities in the United States, Canada, Eastern and Western Europe, and Asia. He is the author of twenty books, including The Universe Next Door (1976), now in its fifth edition and translated into eighteen languages.
