The purpose of this quantitative correlational study was to investigate the relationship of two variables: positive leadership behavior, using Kouzes and Posner, Leadership Practice Inventory, (LPI) and Luthans, Avolio, and Avey's Positive Psychological Capital Questionnaire, (PCQ). The LPI and PCQ which measure future performance outcomes, employee satisfaction and commitment were used in a Retail Bank environment to test branch managers LPI and branch employees PCQ. The research hypothesis tested was that there would be a positive correlation between the LPI and the PCQ instruments as predictors in determining the relationship between positive leadership behaviors and followers' psychological capital when administered within a retail bank environment. The results of the findings showed that the correlations within the study were close to zero and not statistically significant; however, the findings show that both variables are mutually exclusive. Overall, this study extends existing theory and empirical research in the areas of leadership, positive psychological capital, employee commitment, performance, and satisfaction.
