Jean-Jacques Glassner, is Director of Research Emeritus at CNRS. He has published many articles and books including, La chute d'Akkadé. L'événement et sa mémoire (Reimer, 1987), Chroniques mésopotamiennes (Les Belles Lettres, 1993, translated into English), Ecrire à Sumer, l'invention du cunéiforme (Seuil, 2000; translated into English), La Mésopotamie (Les Belles Lettres, 2002), and La Tour de Babylone (Seuil, 2003).
