The book considers new trends in finance which have emerged since the crisis and the challenges faced by some older practices in the UK financial markets. The book looks at issues including: the history of law and creditors in the UK; the proliferation of certain forms of financing such as high cost short term lending and peer to peer lending; funding difficulties faced by Small and Medium Enterprises; the failure of ethical banking; and the post crisis trend for banks to increase their resilience through the use of Contingent Convertible Bonds.
