With the ever-increasing spread of English as an international language, and the significant role it plays in different areas of life including academic growth and achievement, the careful design and planning of English courses become more and more important; especially, when it comes to the EAP course design where students are to be prepared to know the technical language of their own field of study in order to keep their knowledge and expertise up to date and at the highest level possible. The present study is an attempt to investigate the English language needs of Iranian students of physical education. The study draws on various data gathered from a number of sources, including the students' responses to questionnaires concerning their language needs, their current ESP class observations, interviews with professors, and course book analyses. The results can have implications for ESP/EAP course design and material development in the field of physical education.
