On the other hand the root causes of juvenile delinquency are not single and similar from place to place; from time to time. Many theories have been advanced to explain the cause of juvenile delinquency. Some are quite sophisticated, whereas others are predicated on rather basic "instinctive" conclusions that may or may not have a basis in fact. Practitioners and researchers have sought for generations to explain why juveniles engage in criminal acts.
