Several books are available that show great examples of the beautiful pottery made by Joseph Mrazek, but none explore the patterns, molds and marks that define this pottery. As a guide to this pottery, known as Peasant Art Pottery or PAI, collectors will be able to identify the three different styles of this pottery, and understand how the pottery matured. The more I collected, the more I was interested in the various patterns and had to know how many there were and had to have examples of each pattern. As with many collectibles, the more you study, the more you realize what you don't know. My 30 plus years of collecting and study have gone into this book and hopefully will help other collectors answer their questions about this beautiful pottery. As I found with my other book, "The Collector's Guide to Pottery Birds Made in Czechoslovakia", even as I was finishing this book, new examples were showing up on the Internet. No doubt many fine and rare examples are housed in collections all over the world. For the reasons explained in this book, a complete collection could never be put together but as all collectors know, the fun can be in the hunt and study. I hope this book will help collectors enjoy the search.
