The Author is an Endorsed Chaplain. He holds a Doctor of Ministry degree in Missions from the Adventist University of Africa, Kenya. His thesis was able to link spiritual care and medical evangelism in a project that he carried in the Buea Adventist Hospital, South West region, Cameroon. That was something practical that helped him to test a number of strategies that he suggests in the area of spiritual care. Providentially, around the same period of time, the author underwent two surgeries. Such events allowed him to see from a practical perspective, the needs of spiritual care during the hospital experience. As an illustration, he completed his chapter on the theoretical basis and theology of disease two days before his first surgery. And, his second surgery came three months before his defense of the doctoral dissertation. Such things helped him to suggest at the end of this book that, the book of Job is much more about divine Providence than human Suffering. Yves is happily married to Clarisse Mbendé. They have three boys, Shalom Handysides, Adam-Kabod, and Hans-Gabriel. They keep on transforming their 'shithole' place in an area of 'whole person' aapproach.
