Hillary Benford was born and educated in England. She has also worked and studied in France. When she moved to California in the 1960s, she taught high school French for some years. Although, she currently lives in the Bay Area with her physicist husband, she loves to travel and has visited all the places where Joanna Plantagenet lived.
