Autorenporträt
Steven R. McMurray grew up in Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from the University of Utah with a juris doctor degree in 1971 and has practiced law in Salt Lake City ever since. He has a Martindale-Hubble rating of AV (the highest possible) and is listed in Best Lawyers of America. From 1964 to 1966, Steve served as a full-time missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Scottish Mission. Afterward, he taught early morning seminary for four years. In 1971 (before MTCs were established), he developed a missionary preparation class and then taught it for five years. For this class, he developed extensive outlines of gospel topics, particularly oriented toward teaching those interested in learning about the Church. Upon request, he provided copies of his outlines to the Church. He also taught at an institute for four years and was a host on Temple Square in Salt Lake City for nine years. He has served as a counselor in a stake presidency, a member of a high council, a bishop, a branch president, a counselor in a bishopric, an elder's quorum president, a counselor in a stake mission presidency, and a stake missionary. He has also taught Gospel Doctrine several times and has served as a priesthood quorum instructor and a young men's advisor. Steve and his wife, Lorna, who are the parents of nine children, served in the Australia Melbourne Mission. Upon returning from Australia, Steve began writing this book, which has taken over six years and has been one of the spiritual highlights of his life.
