Jens Larsen was a young Virgin Islander who within his short lifetime of 18 years was able to capture the island of St. Croix with a Kodak box camera around the period 1935-1937. As St.Croix's fastest male swimmer and an all around athlete, Jens was able to capture the people and places of St. Croix in the early years as an American territory. His niece Anne Thurland in addition to writing his biography has digitally scanned and restored his photo collection, identifying the people and places in each photograph for many more generations to enjoy.
